“Not Like the Movies” is performed by American recording artist Katy Perry and taken from her second studio album “Teenage Dream”. It was released on 3 August, 2010 by Capitol Records as the first single from the album. It was produced by Greg Wells, and written by Wells and Katy Perry.
Katy performed “Not Like the Movies” on California Dreams Tour and during the 53rd Grammy Awards. Bill Lamb from “About.com” said that “one more impressive song so this time impedes things down for a contemplative romantic song”. Elysa Gardner from “USA Today” said “tempting power ballad”. “Portrait Magazine” wrote that “the song was a powerful way to wind up the album and it displays the singer’s style very well, as she carries lyrics to work with rather than ones to simply dig into”.
“Not Like the Movies” debuted at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart, at number 41 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart and at number 53 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
