It was produced by Butch Walker and written by Katy Perry. The official music video was released on 23 December, 2009 and directed by Melina.
“Thinking of You” peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Pop Songs, at number 11 on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs, at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, at number 27 on the UK Singles Chart, at number 46 on the Schweizer Hitparade, at number 37 on the IFPI Singles Chart, at number 51 on the RIANZ Airplay Chart, at number 18 on the Dutch Top 40, at number 38 on the Irish Singles Chart, at number 20 on the European Hot 100 Singles, at number 24 on the Canadian Hot 100 and at number 34 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
