“John” is performed by American rapper Lil Wayne and taken from his ninth studio album “The Carter IV”. It was released on 24 March, 2011 by Cash Money Records, Young Money Records and Universal Republic as the second single from his album. It was produced by Ayo The Producer, and written by William Leonard Roberts II and Lil Wayne. The official music video was premiered on 12 May, 2011 and directed by Colin Tilley (also the director of Chris Brown’s Look at Me Now video). It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“John” peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Rap Songs chart, at number 19 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
