Song Review
“Drunk on Love” is recorded by Barbadian base singer Rihanna and taken from her 6th studio album “Talk That Talk”. It was released in 2011 by Def Jam Recordings. It was produced by StarGate, and written by Jamie Smith, Oliver Sim, Romy Croft, Baria Qureshi, Tor Erik Hemansen, Mikkel S. Eriksen and Ester Dean.
Sputnickmusic’s reviewer compared the single to her previous album’s single “What’s My Name?”, but he praised the powerful vocals. Sam Lansky from “MTV Buzzworthy” said “now she is able to have an adult song and make it fresh”. Meena Rupani from “DesiHits” said “I didn’t feel the song like memorable or standout. Katherine St. Asaph from “Popdust” said “the song is heavy but slightly emo. The song does most of the heavy work, but because well used notice it become an original song for Rihanna”.
“Drunk on Love” ranked at number 23 on the UK R&B Chart, at number 153 on the UK Singles Chart and at number 55 on the South Korean Gaon International Singles Chart.
