Song Review
“Fading” is performed by Barbadian singer Rihanna and taken from her 5th studio album “Loud”. It was released in 2010 by Def Jam Recordings. It was produced by Polow da Don, and written by Ester Dean and Jamal Jones.
Jon Parles from “The New York Times” wrote “the song contains elements of staccato verses, amazing choruses, noted and edgeless keyboard”. Emily Macaky from “NME” noted that “opening tempo and stabs are weird, but after sometime the song shifts into a doddering beat and sad tune”. Leah Greehblatt from “Entertainment Weekly” said “song with sweat defiance and amaze”. Ryan Dombell from “Pitchfork Media” said “she is again and again her R&B formula in her songs and that’s weird”.
“Fading” ranked at number 42 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs Chart, at number 34 on the UK R&B Chart, at number 187 on the UK Singles Chart and at number 37 on the South Korean Gaon International Singles Chart.
