Song Review
“Back to December” is a song performed by American pop and country singer Taylor Swift, taken from her third studio album “Speak Now”. The song was released on 15 November, 2012 by Big Machine Records. It was co-produced with Nathan Chapman, and was written by herself. The song’s music video was released on 13 January, 2011, and was directed by Yoann Lemoine (also the director of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream).
She has performed the song live at the Country Music Association Awards 2010, at the American Music Awards 2010, during Thanksgiving night on NBC, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and on Speak Now World Tour.
Rob Sheffield of “Rolling Stone” commented that “Her style is intact sufficient to cover up how masterful she is now as a pop star, she lessens her voice for the goal traces in the traditional form of a shy girl aiming to chat hard”. Ryan Brockington from “New York Post” commented that “it’s an extremely unexpected , and fairly amazing , apology song in which she sings regarding willing to solve a romantic relationship she desired she wouldn’t get messed up from the start”.
“Back to December” debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, at number 1 on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs, at number 11 on the Billboard Pop Songs, at number 12 on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs, at number 38 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and at number 7 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart.
